Bek is an inspiring woman, who discovered yoga as the physical practice of her life journeys growth.
Through mothering three lovely children solo, she has developed a courageous perspective on life. Her artistic and motivational side has flourished, despite the mundane realities of everyday life. Bek was raised in country Victoria and surrounded herself with music, movement, creative ventures and anything that would keep a fidgeting young body intrigued. Over her life’s journey, she has instinctually and intuitively kept guidance to her ‘true self’. Six years ago, amidst a chaotic time in her life, struggling to provide the home lifestyle for her children she desired, Bek picked up a DVD of Yoga from a grocery store. This was her first taste at the gift yoga had bought to her life, unfolding the natural initiations of the body, mind and spirit union. She picked up the phone to her mother after her intimate candlelit session, in the most peaceful tone the receiver had ever heard from her daughter “Mum….I just experienced the most wonderful time on my own I have ever experienced. I feel like in walking through clouds… still!” From that moment, her explorations determined her dedication of personal study through books and formal study. She hasn’t looked back.
Bek’s students frequently speak of her empathy and compassion. Behind this, is the thoughtful path of determination and patience to see them break through barriers and beliefs that hold them back from achieving their personal freedom. Her approach is warm, hands-on and spiritually insightful.
“I became spiritually aware of the meaning of life purpose at a very young age. I followed great teachers of faith with great respect and honour. It wasn’t until I believe yoga was revealed to me, that I discovered a practical application of the respect and honour I had been created for in union with the Source of Life. It is from yoga that I have grounding, imagery, science, respect and form to the splendour of the human life, my own being now and to others. This alone drives me every day, bringing fresh insights to my students, affecting my responses to people who suffer physically, mentally and/or spiritually. I feel so blessed to have a tool to communicate the healing I have myself received, from overwork and affliction on my own body, to a body I enjoy living in and through.”
Bek has a solid grounding in technical anatomy, mental and emotional health along with life experience. This interprets clearly though her instruction and adapts well to tender beginners to the ever curious experienced.
She has studied under the instruction of gifted yoga teachers, and the guidance of Rev. Jahne Hope-Williams. A very highly respected matriarch of yoga founding in Melbourne.
